Applying for unemployment benefit

You apply for unemployment benefit from Kela or an unemployment fund. Before applying, register as a jobseeker.

• Online banking credentials
• Employment certificates and pay details

1. Register as a jobseeker

   Register with employment services no later than your first day of unemployment.

2. Find out who pays

3. Fill in the application

4. Attach the documents

5. Fill in continuation applications

6. Report your income

7. Note the waiting period

8. Fulfil your obligations
