Preventing mould
Mould forms when moisture gets into the building structures for a long time. Good ventilation and fixing leaks quickly prevent most mould problems.
You will need
- Humidity meter (hygrometer)
- Squeegee and towels
- Bathroom cleaner
- Torch for inspections
Steps
Measure indoor humidity
In winter, the relative humidity of indoor air is usually 20–40%. If readings are constantly above 60%, there is too much moisture in your home.
Ventilate wet rooms
Do not block the vents
Leave space between walls and furniture
Dry laundry properly
Check for leaks regularly
Report moisture damage immediately
