Child benefit is paid for children under 17 who live in Finland. You apply for it from Kela after your child is born.

You will need

• Online banking credentials
• Your child's details

   Child benefit is paid to the child's guardian or to the person the child lives with.

2. Apply in OmaKela

3. Choose who receives the payment

4. Give your account number

5. Check the single-parent supplement

6. Wait for the decision

7. Report changes

8. Check the amounts
