Getting a home charging point for an electric car

Charging at home is the cheapest and most convenient way to drive electric. A safe installation, however, requires an electrical contractor, the right choice of power and, in a housing company, a decision by the board or the general meeting.

You will need

Steps

  1. Work out your needs

Calculate your daily driving distance. For most people an 11 kW three-phase charger is plenty, and many also manage with lower power overnight.

  2. Check your electricity connection

  3. Do not charge constantly from an ordinary socket

  4. Choose a charger

  5. Ask for quotes

  6. In a housing company, make a proposal

  7. Use the household tax credit

  8. Start using it safely
