Checking tyre pressures

Correct tyre pressures improve safety, reduce fuel consumption and make your tyres last longer. The check takes five minutes.

You will need

• A tyre pressure gauge or the air pump at a service station
• Your car's recommended tyre pressures

Steps

1. Find the correct pressures

   Find the recommended pressures on the driver's door frame, inside the fuel filler flap or in the owner's manual.

2. Measure when the tyres are cold

3. Remove the valve cap

4. Measure the pressure

5. Add or release air

6. Check all the tyres

7. Adjust for the load
