Winterising a summer cottage
Careful autumn maintenance prevents frozen pipes, mice and moisture damage, which can be expensive. With this checklist you systematically close up your cottage for the winter.

Drain the water system
Turn off the pump or the water main shut-off, open all the taps and drain the pipes, pressure tank and hot water heater according to the manufacturer's instructions. The hot water heater's element must be switched off before draining.
