Excel's IF function

The IF function makes your spreadsheet smart: it returns a different value depending on whether a condition is met. It is used, for example, in budgets and assessments.

Steps

1. Understand the structure

   The IF function: =IF(condition, value_if_true, value_if_false). In Finnish-language Excel, the function is called JOS and semicolons are used instead of commas.

2. Write your first formula
