CPR and using a defibrillator

In cardiac arrest, every minute counts. Anyone who has gone through the steps once can do CPR and use a defibrillator.

You will need

• Phone
• Defibrillator (if available)
• First aid course (recommended)

Steps

1. Check for a response

   Speak to the person and shake them by the shoulders. If they do not wake up, open the airway by lifting the chin and check their breathing for no more than 10 seconds.

2. Call 112

3. Ask for a defibrillator

4. Start compressions

5. Give two breaths

6. Use the defibrillator

7. Continue without interruption
